A lakeside cottage plan that combines simplicity and natural elegance

This lakeside cottage plan captivates with its rustic yet Scandinavian architecture, designed to blend harmoniously into a natural environment. Its sleek design, compact volume, and generous windows make it a bright, warm, and functional home, perfect for enjoying the scenery and tranquility of the waterfront.

Designed by Plan Maison Québec, this 1,334 sq. ft. cottage spread over two floors combines aesthetics, comfort, and efficiency. Every detail has been designed to offer a unique living experience, where nature invites itself into the heart of the home.

A timeless rustic and Scandinavian style

The aesthetic of this lakeside cottage plan emphasizes a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. The dark vertical wood exterior cladding evokes Nordic charm, while the sloping metal roof emphasizes its contemporary look. The large, strategically positioned windows provide exceptional brightness throughout the day, while beautifully framing the view of the lake and surrounding forest.

This rustic, Scandinavian style is also reflected in simple volumes and a minimalist architecture, highlighting natural materials and symmetrical lines. This chalet blends equally well into a wooded setting, in the mountains, or on the shores of a Quebec lake.

An open and functional interior layout

The garden level features an open-concept living space combining the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows create a sense of space and freedom. The modern kitchen, featuring a large central island, encourages conviviality and opens directly onto the outdoor patio, perfect for summer meals and relaxing moments surrounded by nature.

The interior design emphasizes fluidity of movement and bright spaces. Clean lines and natural materials, such as wood and stone, reinforce the chalet's warm and authentic character.

A mezzanine and thoughtfully designed spaces

Upstairs, the mezzanine overlooks the living room and offers an exceptional view of the outdoors. This versatile space can serve as a reading nook, office, or relaxation area. There's also a spacious master bedroom and a large bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower, ideal for optimal comfort after a day spent outdoors.

The garden level also includes a practical powder room, while the basement is unfinished, allowing for faster and more affordable construction. The poured concrete foundation ensures strength and durability, even in humid environments.

The ideal chalet for enjoying nature

This lakeside chalet plan was designed to maximize views, natural light, and the connection with the outdoor environment. The patio becomes an extension of the living room, allowing for outdoor living almost year-round. Whether as a second home or a primary residence, this model offers an incomparable quality of life in a privileged natural setting.

Living in this chalet means adopting a peaceful, simple, and authentic lifestyle, where each day begins with a splendid view of the water and surrounding nature.
