A contemporary chalet with distinctive architecture
This modern chalet design—featuring a garden-level floor and four bedrooms—combines functionality, abundant natural light, and a contemporary aesthetic. Measuring 28 feet wide by 34 feet deep, with a stated floor area of 924 square feet, this single-family home is defined by its two-level layout, consisting of a main floor and a fully finished garden-level floor.
Its modern architecture is characterized by a shed-style (single-slope) roof, clean lines, and green horizontal exterior siding. Large glass openings and an elevated deck foster a seamless connection between the interior living spaces and the outdoors.
Modern architecture with a shed-style roof
The exterior appearance of this contemporary chalet is based on a simple rectangular volume, enhanced by a single-slope roof. This architectural configuration creates a distinctive silhouette while promoting a modern, minimalist look.
The rear façade features a spacious elevated deck, sheltered by a significant roof overhang. Slender vertical columns support this structure, further emphasizing the building’s height.
The green horizontal siding, paired with light-colored structural elements, creates a harmonious contrast. Strategically placed windows across various façades maximize the influx of natural light into the primary living areas.
A bright main floor with an open-concept living space
The main floor of this modern home design houses the primary living areas in an open, inviting layout.
The kitchen—measuring approximately 14 feet 4 inches by 11 feet—includes a large central island that provides extra preparation space as well as additional seating. Its layout facilitates movement between the various functional zones.
The dining room, located at the heart of the home, connects directly to both the kitchen and the living room. The latter—measuring approximately 14 by 12 feet—features expansive windows that provide a clear view of the outdoors.
A bedroom completes this floor, alongside a bathroom equipped with a bathtub, a separate shower, a toilet, and a sink, ensuring comfort for the occupants.
A fully finished garden-level floor with three bedrooms
The lower level is a key feature of this modern four-bedroom chalet. Designed as a garden-level floor, it offers additional living space and direct access to the outdoors.
This level contains three bedrooms arranged around a central family room, a configuration that creates a desirable separation between private sleeping quarters and common areas.
The family room is a versatile space that can serve as a TV area, a relaxation zone, or a game room.
A second bathroom with a shower, as well as a mechanical and laundry area, round out the layout. A separate vestibule with storage also provides convenient access to the grounds.
A design tailored for sloping terrain
Built on poured concrete foundations, this contemporary chalet with a finished basement is an excellent choice for a sloping lot that allows for a garden-level design.
Distributing the rooms across two levels maximizes space efficiency while maintaining a compact building footprint.
With its four bedrooms, two bathrooms, open-concept kitchen, and covered terrace, this modern garden-level chalet plan offers a versatile architectural solution, whether for a primary residence or a vacation home. Its functional interior layout and contemporary architecture meet the requirements for a comfortable, light-filled home that is well-integrated into its surroundings.
