Nordic house plan for a sloping lot: Harmony between Scandinavian design and nature

Discover our new architectural model, a perfect fusion of modernity and the warmth of natural materials. This Nordic house plan for a sloping lot was specifically designed by the Plan Maison Québec team to meet the needs of homeowners wishing to build an exceptional retreat in rugged environments, whether in the forest, in the mountains, or by a lake. With its contemporary chalet style and optimized structure, this 2,211 sq ft home redefines the art of living in harmony with the Quebec landscape.

Bold and luminous Scandinavian architecture

The Scandinavian style is distinguished by clean lines and respectful integration with the environment. This model is striking first and foremost for its steeply pitched roof, ideal for managing winter precipitation, and its dark vertical wood cladding that elegantly blends into the silhouette of the trees.

The rear façade is a true architectural feat: monumental windows extending the full height of all three levels. This Nordic-style house plan on a sloping site prioritizes natural light, transforming each room into a private observatory for the changing seasons. The absence of a garage maximizes the living space and preserves the building's visual purity.

The advantage of a walk-out basement on a sloping site

One of the major strengths of this design lies in the intelligent use of a finished walk-out basement. Unlike traditional basements, this lower level benefits from direct access to the garden thanks to the slope. Here you'll find two spacious bedrooms, a full bathroom, and convenient storage space. It's the perfect place to host guests or family members, while offering them complete privacy and direct access to the outdoors. The poured concrete foundation ensures exceptional thermal insulation and structural integrity, perfectly suited to our climate.

Open-plan living space and spectacular mezzanine

The ground floor is the heart of the home. Upon entering, you are greeted by a vast open-plan space encompassing the living room, dining room, and a modern kitchen. The cathedral ceiling creates an impressive sense of volume, amplifying the feeling of spaciousness and freedom.

The upper floor features a versatile mezzanine overlooking the living area. This space can serve as a playroom, boudoir, or library, offering a sweeping view of the living room and, through the expansive windows, of the surrounding nature. It is here that one truly experiences the magic of Nordic architecture: a feeling of cozy protection combined with an expansive view of the horizon.

A spacious chalet for the whole family

With its 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms strategically placed across the different levels, this chalet offers a perfect balance between conviviality and privacy. The master bedroom, located on the main floor, allows for easy single-level living, while the lower and upper levels offer quiet retreats. Whether for a primary residence or a high-end vacation home, this 36' x 26' floor plan optimizes every square foot to guarantee absolute comfort without compromising on aesthetics.

Acquire a design by Plan Maison Québec and transform your sloping lot into a true architectural masterpiece.
