A rustic cottage plan designed for outdoor living
This rustic cottage plan was designed to meet the needs of outdoor enthusiasts seeking tranquility and simplicity, without compromising on comfort. With 1,445 sq ft spread over two levels, this cottage offers a warm and timeless architectural style, perfectly suited to Quebec landscapes, whether in the forest, by the lake, or in the mountains. Its compact size makes it easy to build on various types of terrain while offering well-proportioned and bright interior spaces.
From the moment you arrive, the rustic aesthetic stands out with its balanced proportions, gable roof, and exterior cladding that blends seamlessly into the environment. The large wraparound deck quickly becomes a natural extension of the living space, ideal for enjoying the outdoors in every season.
A functional and inviting main floor
The main floor of this rustic cottage plan was designed to maximize comfort and ease of movement. The open-concept living area encompasses the living room, dining room, and kitchen. This layout maximizes natural light and creates a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for entertaining family and friends.
The kitchen, with its central island, offers a practical workspace while also serving as a gathering place. The generously sized living room allows for comfortable furniture, ideal for evenings by the fire or relaxing after a day outdoors. A master bedroom is also located on the main floor, offering both privacy and easy access. A full bathroom, including a bathtub and shower, completes this level.
A bright and versatile mezzanine
Upstairs, the mezzanine adds considerable value to this rustic cottage floor plan. Open to the main floor, it creates a sense of spaciousness and height while allowing natural light to flow freely. This versatile space can be used as a second bedroom, a relaxation area, an office, or even a reading nook, depending on your needs.
Thanks to its clever layout, the mezzanine optimizes the living space without increasing the building's footprint. It perfectly meets the needs of homeowners looking for a compact yet flexible and adaptable cottage.
A simple and efficient cottage without a basement
This model rests on a poured concrete foundation and does not include a basement, simplifying the design and use of the space. The absence of a garage maintains a clean silhouette and an authentic character, true to the spirit of a rustic cottage. The dimensions of 32 feet wide by 28 feet deep offer an excellent balance between compactness and interior comfort.
A plan adaptable to your project
Like all models offered by Plan Maison Québec, this small rustic cottage plan can be customized to meet your specific needs. Interior modifications, adjustments to openings, adaptation to municipal standards or site constraints: our team of architectural technologists will guide you every step of the way to transform this model into a cottage perfectly suited to your lifestyle.
This plan is a wise choice for a vacation cottage, a secondary residence, or even a small single-family home with a warm and timeless style.
