Hello, I'm Emilie, General Manager at Plans Maisons Québec. You've seen a model on our website that you like and you'd like to use it or ask your designer to copy it. Do you have the right to do so? Or you've received your building plans and you'd like to build several houses with the same plan. Can you?
Sometimes, we might think that if we paid for our plans, we have the right to do so.
But unfortunately, this is not the case. To avoid problems regarding the use of these plans, I'm informing you today about our policy regarding their use and copyright.
To avoid getting you into trouble, I'm going to list here everything you cannot do with the plans we provide, what are commonly referred to as illegal practices. For example, you cannot copy, modify, or resell a plan you purchased from us. Redrawing a plan without the designer's consent is also prohibited. If you wish to build multiple houses using the same plan, you will simply have to pay the applicable licenses to Plans Maison Québec.
You also may not copy an image from our website or one of our plans. Finally, it is also not possible to redraw the plans in the form of blueprints or blacklines.
Copyright law applies to all our house designs. It should be noted that when you purchase a house design from Plans Maison Québec, you attest to your understanding of copyright regulations. I emphasize this point: all Plans Maison Québec house designs are protected by copyright law, whether they are the house designs displayed on the website, the pre-designed plans, or even the custom construction plans.
It is therefore illegal to copy, reproduce, or use without authorization our house models,
drawings, 3D house plans, and illustrations provided on our website or in any other
communication we may provide you. Anyone involved in copyright infringement may be held liable. So be careful, as the penalties for copyright infringement can be very severe.
In addition to the fines provided by law, infringers will be required to pay for the substantial
damages caused by the infringement and return to the author all profits made and collected through this infringement. Copyright law also allows for claims for exemplary or punitive damages, which have no limits. So, beware, anyone who hesitates to commit fraud; it can be very, very painful. We will be happy to answer and help you.
