What is a trust?

In architecture, a truss is an element of a non-deformable frame supporting the weight of the cover of a building with a pitched roof. Triangular in shape for a gable roof as for a four-sided "two vice" roof, this vital part of the framework is placed perpendicular to the gutter walls. Trusses are made of wood and/or metal. They are connected to each other by means of longitudinal pieces called purlins. The set carries the cover to the top of an attic.

The elements composing a farm are generally: One or more piece(s) of wood, horizontal(s) called entered which rests on two load-bearing walls. Two oblique pieces of wood called crossbowmen. The punch, middle vertical part of the farm, joining the entrance to the ridge of the roof. The struts and ridge link. When manufacturing roof trusses, certain criteria must be taken into consideration. Respecting the angles, the accuracy of the cuts and the symmetry of the structure are essential elements for the success of your project. Especially since it is essential that all your trusses are identical in every way, to ensure that your roof and ceiling remain straight. If not, installing your roof shingle and interior Placoplâtre ceiling will become a real nightmare. Usually, roof trusses are made by a specialized manufacturer and ordered through a hardware store or a builder.

A cutting error or poor assembly will have a definite impact on the structure and quality of your construction. High winds or heavy snowfall could then endanger your building and the people who live there.
