Farmhouse-style cottage plan with garage and covered terraces (1,792 sq. ft.)
Discover this farmhouse-style cottage plan, featuring a garage and covered terraces. Spanning 1,792 square feet across two floors, this design blends the charm of country architecture with the functionality of a modern home. With three bedrooms, an office, two bathrooms, and an integrated single-car garage, this cottage offers a versatile layout—perfect for enjoying a natural setting while benefiting from well-organized interior spaces.
Farmhouse architecture with countryside flair
This cottage stands out for its traditional form, steeply pitched gable roof, and architectural details inspired by rural structures. The exterior cladding combines horizontal beige siding with reddish-brown vertical siding, creating a warm, authentic contrast.
Exposed structural elements, timber posts, and decorative brackets further enhance the building’s farmhouse character, while deep roof overhangs and covered porches complete its distinct architectural identity.
Measuring 46 feet 6 inches wide by 28 feet deep, the design incorporates a single-car garage directly into the main structure. This configuration maintains a harmonious silhouette while ensuring convenience for daily living.
A welcoming and functional ground floor
The ground floor of this farmhouse-style cottage features an open-concept living area. The kitchen, dining room, and living room flow seamlessly into one another, encouraging easy movement and interaction among residents.
The kitchen is designed with an L-shaped layout and a central island, providing extra counter space for meal preparation. Nearby, the dining room occupies a central location, while the living room features openings that look out onto the surrounding environment.
A first bedroom, measuring 11' 7" by 12', is also located on this level. This layout provides a sleeping area without the need to go upstairs.
The ground floor also includes a bathroom with a shower, a laundry area for a washer and dryer, and built-in storage.
The single-car garage, measuring approximately 13' 10" by 18' 8", is accessible from inside the home—a significant advantage during the colder seasons.
An upper level designed to meet the family's needs
The upper floor features a functional layout, including two additional bedrooms, an office, a living area, and a second bathroom.
The primary bedroom on this level measures approximately 15' 6" by 10' 10". The second bedroom measures approximately 11' 9" by 12' 1".
The office serves as a versatile space that can be adapted for remote work, study, or other personal activities. The additional living area provides a secondary lounge, separate from the common spaces on the ground floor.
This two-level configuration allows for an effective separation between different residential functions.
Two covered terraces for enjoying the outdoors
One of the main highlights of this farmhouse-style cottage plan—which includes a garage and covered terraces—is its two outdoor porches.
Situated on opposite sides of the home, each of these terraces measures approximately 32' by 5'. They provide sheltered spaces, allowing for the creation of relaxation areas while still offering views of the surrounding landscape.
Their exposed timber structures blend harmoniously with the chalet’s rustic, country-style architecture.
Designed on a concrete slab, without a basement
This 1,792-square-foot chalet is built on a concrete slab foundation, with no basement or garden-level floor. This approach allows the living areas to be concentrated across two levels, with mechanical and residential functions organized accordingly.
The design features neither a mezzanine nor an intermediate level. Its layout ensures a clear, logical distribution of rooms, with a central staircase connecting the floors.
A customizable farmhouse-style chalet plan
This model is an excellent choice for owners seeking a chalet with a traditional, charming character, featuring spaces well-suited for family life and extended stays.
Choose this farmhouse-style chalet plan—complete with a garage and covered terraces—and leverage the expertise of Plan Maison Québec to tailor the project to your specific needs, your land, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
